“Praise the Lord who has given rest to his people, just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the wonderful promises he gave . . .” (1Kings 8:56 NIV).

“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ.” (2Cor. 1:20).

Generally, we don’t think about sitting down in a chair. We just do it. But, it’s a very accurate picture of faith in action. We begin sitting down in the chair because we assume it will hold our weight. We rest our faith in the chair’s “promise” to give us rest before we sit down in it for a rest. In similar fashion we can rest in God’s promises. “Come to me . . . and I will give you rest,” says Jesus (Matthew 11:28).

We find rest in Christ because we find the fulfillment of God’s promises in Him. Not one word of God’s wonderful promises fail when we seat ourselves in Christ. Fill your mind with the promises of God. Find a promise in His word pertaining to your present situation. Memorize it, meditate on it, believe it, pray it, and confess it. You will find victory over your circumstances and rest for your soul.
